JoAnn Merlyn Bradley, 84, passed away on Monday, November 17, at Edgewood Vista after a courageous seven-month battle against breast cancer. She was born in Duluth on July 13, 1930, to Carl "Roy" and Ethel Carlson, with her twin sister Janice. After graduating from Proctor High School in 1948, JoAnn became a beautician and worked at Maurice's Salon. She was also a seamstress, worked in retail sales and was a homemaker. She married Gordon G. Bradley in 1954, and together they had 4 children. JoAnn loved her home on Caribou Lake. She was an avid gardener and loved to entertain her family and friends. She traveled extensively across the United States with her husband, and together they were members of the Bounder RV group. JoAnn was a snow-bird spending over 20 winters in Mesa, Ariz. Where she crafted and sang with the Lady Barbershop group and the church choir. She was a Past Guardian for Bethel 69, Job's Daughters, and past Elder of Pike Lake Presbyterian Church. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parent; brother Donald; husband Gordon, and son Scott. JoAnn is survived by three daughters: LeeAnn (Rocky) Nelsen of Saginaw, Dawn (Jim) Najjar of Saginaw, and Leslie (Bob) Hamilton of Ely; five grand-children; Ryan and Kyle Kratt of Ely. Kelsey Nelsen of Minneapolis, Bailie (Lucas Plaia) and Whitney Najjar of Saginaw; sisters Janice (Bill) Knight of Duluth and Margie Hall of Cloquet; close friend Donald at Edgewood Vista. A very special thank you to the caregivers at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living for their love and support to JoAnn and her family during this difficult time. JoAnn will be remembered for her love of family, enjoyment of life and for her sense of adventure. Visitation: 3 p.m. On Wednesday, November 26th, with service to follow at 4p.m. In the Faith Baptist Church in Hermantown.
