Obituary

Joan Marie (LeBlanc) Eng, 75, of Duluth, MN passed away on the morning of June 1, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family, who loved her very much.

Joan was born on January 23, 1951 in Duluth, MN to Marjorie Rinker and Raymond LeBlanc. Joan went to high school in Proctor, MN, home of the “Proctor Rails”. She went on to earn her certificate for Nurse’s Aide and worked most of her career at Chris Jensen Nursing Home. Joan took the opportunity to go to over the road trucking school at Lake Superior College, where she received her Commercial Driver’s License. For three and a half years, Joan, along with her partner and husband Bill, were team drivers for Koch Trucking. Together they delivered loads traveling cross country from the east coast to the west coast, north coast to the south coast with their cat "Boho" by their side. After trucking, Joan worked and eventually retired from DROC as a Program Director.

Joan loved living a simple life watching her birds, visiting with friends and family, especially her great grandson, Noah.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie Rinker and Raymond Leblanc; stepdad, Thomas Rinker; sister, Mary Kay Bahnsen; brothers, Richard "Dick" and Patrick LeBlanc; son, Thomas Jon Zebott; and infant daughter, Sarah Lynnea Zebott.

Joan is survived by her husband of almost 40 years come August 1, 2026, William "Bill" Eng; son, Timothy (Tina) Zebott; grandson, Timothy (Kayla) Zebott; granddaughter, Sarah (Lee) Anderson; great-grandsons, Austin, Mason and Noah; brothers, James (Linda) LeBlanc and John (Rick Filibeck) LeBlanc; best friends, Cindy Haglin and Rita Saylor; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat, Myrtle.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Aspirus hospice nurses, especially "Cass" who always brought so much comfort and peace to Joan and our family. It was not just the medical expertise you provided, but the genuine warmth and kindness you showed to our entire family during our hardest moments. You all guided us through the unknown with immense patience and gentleness. The family also wishes to thank Larissa and staff from Sunrise Funeral Home, Crematory & Cemetery for their professionalism and support.

A private graveside service and interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
