Jerome "Jerry" Donald Shepardson, loving uncle, brother, friend, and spirit passed away August 24, 2022 at Essentia Health in Duluth.

Jerome was born December 6, 1960, in Duluth Minn., to Leona V. (Spilman) and John D. Shepardson. Jerome loved and cared for his community by always buying extra amenities to share with those in need. He also provided compassion and empathy for others, despite the situation they were in. Jerome was truly a beautiful soul that touched many hearts.

One of Jerome's best attributes was being a jokester. He made so many laugh because of the wonderful sense of humor he had. Jerome was also charming, lovable, and ridiculous.

Some favorite memories were that Jerome would go down every single aisle when grocery shopping even if he knew he didn't want anything in that aisle. Around Halloween Jerome would by bags of Almond Joy and Tootsie Rolls and eat the whole bag. Seriously, that was a lot of candy. He would say that he bought three big bags because he was going to give away most of it. Honestly, that was only partially true. Another favorite memory is before every holiday he would be asked if he'd like to celebrate and he'd say "No, I don't celebrate holidays." Then, a week before the holiday he'd call and ask what size ham he should get. Jerome was seriously a ridiculous human being that was loved so deeply.

Some of the things Jerome loved: his cat Morgan "always fat and sassy"; family; friends, such as Patrick and Pam, a lovely women that adored him; and ICE Mountain water that had to be very cold. Jerome's favorite color was navy blue and he loved listening to his stereo that was usually set to the rock station. Jerome will be highly missed by his family and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Reeves; brothers, Jeff and James Shepardson; and aunt, Kay.

Jerome is survived by his niece, JhonRae; brother, John; sister-in-law, Lynne Shepardson; and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family has decided to do a private ceremony at a family cabin Jerome loved to go to. However, close friends are welcomed to join.
