Jean Marie Flood (Hujanen), 89, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026.

Born on November 27, 1936, Jean was a woman defined by her kindness, her steady work ethic, and her deep devotion to her family. After the immense task of raising her six children and doing the books for Pat's Skelly (her husband's business), Jean entered the professional world as a certified accountant, bringing her sharp mind for numbers to Anderson Carpet and later Super One Foods.

Jean was a creative soul who found joy in the rhythmic click of a sewing machine and the community of a quilting circle. She cherished the time spent sewing with her daughters and was a dedicated member of the Christ Lutheran quilting guild. When not at her sewing table, she could often be found immersed in word puzzles, sharing her subtle sense of humor, and expressing her desires in "Finnish" style. Above all, Jean was sweet natured and always the first to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend.

Her greatest legacy remains her family. Jean loved traveling with and visiting her expanding circle of descendants, finding immense pride in every new generation.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Harold "Pat" Flood Jr.; cherished grandchild, Kelsey Lane Davis; and brother, Duane Hujanen.

Jean is survived by her six children, Michael (Billie) Flood, Mark (Corynn) Flood, Lori (Aaron) Davis, Greg (Tammy) Flood, Lynn (Paul) Haslach, and Terry Flood; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, with a 14th joyfully expected soon; and brothers, Alvin (Florette) Hujanen and Kenneth (Pam) Hujanen.

Visitation to be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 26th at Christ Lutheran Church, 2415 Ensign St, Duluth, with Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM, and a reception to follow.
