In Loving Memory of Jean Adair (Jentoft) Collins Clark, age 88, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 30th, 2026 with family and friends by her side.

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was a woman whose charismatic personality touched countless lives. Jean was born January 4, 1938, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Lawrence Jentoft and Astrid Jentoft (Holland), both of whom preceded her in death. When Jean was just seven years old, her father passed away, and her beloved grandmother, Anna Holland (Solemslock) of Orkanger, Norway, helped raise her along with her mother Astrid. Jean carried the love, traditions, and lessons she learned from her mother and grandmother throughout her entire life. Jean's younger brother, Larry Jentoft (Sue), also preceded her in death three years ago.

Jean graduated from Denfeld High School in 1956, where she was a member of the baton-twirling team. She treasured her childhood and teenage years, filling them with activities, friendships, creativity, and fun. She was involved in Girl Scouts, enjoyed crafts and sewing, and loved participating in talent shows as a child. As a teenager, she especially loved the dances and school activities of the 1950s. She attended the Winter Frolic Festival and events at Piedmont Heights, where she was eventually elected Queen of the Festival. Jean was confirmed on May 27, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church. Jean married Thomas Collins, and together they had three sons, Steven, Michael, and Todd Collins. Jean and Thomas also entered the beauty business together, owning and operating Town and Country Beauty Salon for 17 years before their divorce.

After her first marriage, Jean began what would become an extraordinary career as an Avon representative, serving her clients for more than 45 years. Jean wasn't simply an Avon representative; she made lifelong friendships with the people she served. She loved visiting her clients, often sitting down with them for coffee, conversation, and friendship. Her dedication and passion made her one of the top Avon representatives in the country for many years, earning more awards than could ever be counted.

But perhaps what Jean was most famous for among her family was her amazing cooking. She learned many of her recipes and traditions from her mother, Astrid, and her grandmother Anna, carrying on the Norwegian heritage that was such an important part of her life. Jean loved people. She had a gift for making those around her feel welcome, loved, and important. Her charismatic and loving personality was impossible to forget. Anyone fortunate enough to have met Jean and been touched by her warmth could truly consider themselves blessed. Jean was a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Piedmont. Before her dementia took over, she was very active with helping at church for many occasions from making pasties every year to serving coffee after church with the Mary Circle. Her faith meant a lot and she loved Jesus dearly.

Visitation to be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19th at Chirst Lutheran Church, 2415 Ensign St, with Memorial Service at Noon and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
