Janis "Jan" Carol Wingren, 85, of Duluth, completed her earthly journey on Thursday, October 10, 2019 with family by her side. Jan was born July 5, 1934 to Elias and Viena (Laine) Hendrickson. She grew up and lived most of her life in Duluth. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1952. On July, 14, 1956 she married Richard "Dick" Wingren. Together they raised two daughters. Jan's activities growing up were baton twirling, being a majorette, and skating. She was a life-long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She worked as a medical transcriptionist throughout her adult life. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and sewing. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a proud grandma, and adored her great-grandchildren. Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dick; parents; and son-in-law, Kevin Kolquist. Jan is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Rod Saline) Kolquist of Duluth and Sandy Wingren of Florida; grandchildren, Brandon (Debbi) Kolquist, Kristin (Andrew) Davis, Kara (Jesse) Stokke, and Mark Stelzer; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Dave (Pat) Hendrickson of Saginaw, MN. The family would like to thank Dr. Sandy Popham, Dr. Jessica Krog-Breeuwer, St. Luke's Infusion, St. Luke's Hospice, nurse Donna, and the staff at Primrose. VISITIATION: 10 am on Monday, Oct. 14th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 410 N. Arlington Ave, with memorial service to follow at 11 am, with Pastor Noah Johnson officiating. Memorials preferred to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or St. Luke's Hospice.
