Janice "Jan" Margaret
Geasley
March 27, 1936 – May 5, 2026
Janice “Jan” Geasley, 90, of Cloquet, passed away on May 5, 2026, at Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital — undoubtedly leaving behind a few final opinions and a lifetime of unforgettable stories.
Born March 27, 1936, to Mabel and James Carl, Jan spent her life doing things her own way and usually doing them well. She worked for many years at Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1999, though anyone who knew Jan knows retirement did not stop her from being the “Sarge”.
Jan enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, bingo, and probably beating you at at least one of them. She loved laughter, good company, and keeping life interesting. Her sharp wit, stubborn streak, and no-nonsense attitude were part of her charm — and if she liked you, you knew it. If she didn’t… you probably knew that too.
She leaves behind her daughters, Janet (Joe) Baker, Anita Geasley, and Julie Geasley; grandchildren Dani Geasley, Bryan (Crystal) Seacord, and Randy Seacord; along with her great-grandchildren, who will carry on her stories, spirit, and maybe a little bit of her sass.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mabel Carl, and all of her siblings: Clarence, Marie, Isabelle, Rose, Carol, and Janet. No doubt there was quite the reunion waiting for her.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital, along with the EMTs and officers, for their compassion, care, and kindness during a difficult time.
Jan leaves behind a family who loved her fiercely, friends who will miss her dearly, and enough memories last a lifetime. The world is a little quieter without her — though somehow, it still feels like she’s nearby.
Services will be held at a later date and will be updated when plans are finalized.
