James William Salisbury, age 76, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2018 in St. Luke's Hospice. He was born on September 21, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to Howard and Esther (Rodine) Salisbury. On April 14, 1957 he was confirmed at Calvary Methodist Church. In 1960, he graduated from North High School in Minneapolis. He worked in McLeod, California for River Lumber Company for five years. He later moved to St. Maries, Idaho and worked for a plywood company for seven years. In 1969, he moved to Washington State and was a driver for a Smelting Company and retired from there in 1984. He then moved to Hilo, Hawaii and worked several jobs there for five years. He moved to Minnesota and worked in Minneapolis for an electronics firm. In 1987 he moved to Superior, WI and has resided here in Duluth for his remaining years. For many years James was a devoted grandfather to many foster kids in the Twin Ports area. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Sherry Salisbury of Coon Rapids, MN; two nieces, Jody and Wendy; and many foster grandchildren. VISITATION: 10am Monday, January 29th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with a funeral service to follow at 11am.
