It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Russell Denno, 70, who left us to go to a better place on October 31, 2024. He was born in Duluth, MN, to William and Hildegarde Denno, on June 10, 1954.

Jim was a 1972 graduate of Central High School in Duluth and worked as a Goodwill Associate for several years.

He was known for his enthusiasm for life, his love of people, his remarkable memory, his passion for writing poetry, enjoyment of music and his vast CD collection. He enjoyed Sunday mornings at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed and where he felt a strong bond with the pastor and parishioners.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hildegarde Denno.

Jim will be sadly missed by surviving brothers, Gregory (Lynn) Denno and Bob (Marian) Denno; as well as nephews, Charles (Joslyn) Denno and Mike Priola.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to DRCC Woodland and its staff who watched over Jim in his later years, and to Pastor Noah Johnson at Holy Cross.
