James "Jim" Paul Knuckey, 89, of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025 surrounded by family and friends.

Raised in Duluth, Jim attended UMD, and developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and a passion for fly fishing. After marrying Dorothy, they settled in Brooklyn Park where he worked as a commercial lighting sales engineer. His passion for wildlife art led him to start and co-own Voyageur Art.

Jim was active in his community as a hockey coach, co-founder of the Brooklyn Park Hockey Assn, President of the MN Jaycees and VP of the national Jaycees. He also served with the Optimist Club and his church. His greatest joy was spending time with family and sharing in their activities.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Hilda Knuckey; and brother, Cedric.

Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy; children, Sue Gregerson, Tom (Julie Ranczka) Knuckey, Betsy (Dan) Wild, and Katie (Louis) Herbes; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Popp, Zach Knuckey, Kim (Dan) Wahl, Kirsten (Chris) Rusk, Billy Gregerson, and Emily Wild; great-grandchildren, Josie Popp and Ella Wahl; brother, John (Sue); sisters-in-law, Diane Knuckey and Eleanor (Tom) Porter; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation to be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 3rd at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, 21705 129th Ave N, Rogers, MN, with Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Private interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Lake Superior Steelhead Association for habitat restoration or Word of Peace Lutheran Church.
