Jacob was born in Minneapolis on August 26, 1983 and died in Duluth on November 23, 2020.

Those left behind include his parents, Ken and Debra Bickel; his brother, Daniel Bickel; his beloved children, Wesley and Evie Bickel; their mother, Justine Bickel; and many friends and family members who loved him.

Jacob was a very talented artist and exceptionally talented at figuring out any task presented to him. He loved repurposing furniture and turning it into an object of art. His passions were cooking, cars, music and his cats. Jacob perfected his recipe for Jambalaya and it was incredible. He appreciated the beauty of nature and spent many hours hiking off trail with his children, looking for treasures. They always came home with an armload of stuff, which was incorporated into the garden. He loved taking Wesley and Evie to the creek to look for critters. They collected monarch caterpillars and raised them every summer. He taught his children to love and respect nature.

Jacob truly loved and protected his family and was fiercely loved in return. Unfortunately, all this love could not overcome his terrible pain and he ended his life. We will always love you and pray that your soul has found the peace you could not find in life.

Service will be held in the spring.
