Obituary

Jack L. Harmon, 86, of Duluth, MN, passed away on August 16, 2025, at Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living after a long battle with cancer.

Jack was born in McCook, Nebraska to Marion Walker Harmon & Irene Mae McCain on November 11, 1938. He joined the Navy when he was 17 years old, and during his service time he traveled to many wonderful places, earned his GED, and learned to swim. Towards the end of his career in the Navy, one of his duties was helping with the mail service, and that's when he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He was honorably discharged before his 21st birthday. He worked odd jobs until finally getting hired with United States Postal Service. He worked for the Post Office for 30+ years and loved every minute of it, even in the cold. He finally retired to enjoy all the things he loved, playing with his dogs, outdoor activities, camping, kayaking, finding agates, making stained glass, and so much more.

Jack is survived by brother, Bruce (Robin) Smith, of Enumclaw, WA; and so many friends that he called family!

Jack had the biggest heart and would do anything for you and had the best smile around! He was so loved and will surely be missed!

The Loisel, Smith & Walsh family would like to thank the Keystone Bluffs staff for all their kindness to Jack over the last 2 years. He loved all of you and he appreciated everything you did to make him feel at ease! Thank you to St Luke's, the office of Dr. Silva, and all the staff on that floor for the wonderful care you gave Jack. Thank you to St. Luke's Hospice for making this less stressful and keeping Jack comfortable. And last but certainly not least, thank you to the APRN's and Nurses from Dr. Beach's office, that he saw monthly for such a long time, for making it painless and making him laugh every time!

Per Jack wishes, no service will be held. Please do something nice for someone else, or plant a tree or flowers, in Jack's memory - Jack would thank you!
