Herman Carl Swanson, 84, was called to heaven on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Herman served in the army during the Korean War. He worked for Arrowhead Concrete for 43 years and served as a volunteer for 21 years for the Canosia Fire Department. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Everett & Irene; brother, Floid; nephews, Jimmy Poss and Darin Cannon; and in-laws, John & Margaret Johnson. He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Marsha (Johnson). They would have celebrated 59 wonderful years of marriage on September 6. He was such a thoughtful, loving, giving father who will missed by his children Colleen (Pete) Cich and Cory (Gina) Swanson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeri, Jered, Jeremy Swanson and Peter and Justin Cich; brother, Howard (Nancy); sisters, Roberta (Max) Scheper and Viola Poss; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Vic) Cannon; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. VISITATION: 12 pm Thursday, September 7th at the Pike Lake Community Church, 5611 Martin Road, Duluth, with a memorial service to follow at 1 pm.
