Hazel R. Hoglund, 95, of Duluth, died Tuesday September 17, 2013 in Solvay Hospice House.  She was born in Poplar, WI to John and Anna Wainio on August 4, 1918.  Hazel had attended Duluth Central High School, the Duluth Teachers College, and UMD.  She began teaching in Maple Plain and Jordon, MN, and taught in the Duluth School District for many years.  Hazel was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Justa, daughter Patricia, and a son Gary. She is survived by a son Richard (Carmen) Hoglund of Grosse Point, MI, grandchildren Troy Hedges, Kristian Hoglund, and Emily Hoglund, and two great-grandchildren.
