Harmon Martindale was a kind generous man who loved his country and airplanes. He was an electronics mechanic in the Air Force and loved war novels and movies. He was our mentor, our rock, our one-man comedy show. He was loved by so many that were and weren't related by blood. He was everyone's dad.

Harmon "Marty" James Martindale, 90, of Hermantown, MN, passed away on October 9, 2022 at Waterview Shores Nursing Home in Two Harbors.

Marty was born in Cudahy, WI to Harmon Martindale and Josephine Robarge on June 8, 1932. After high school, he joined the Air Force as an airplane electronics mechanic and earned many medals. He rejoined 3 times and retired after 20 years with an honorable discharge. Marty enjoyed family parties, dice games, card games and putzing in his garage. He gave to many charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project, the Lakota Indian School. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Marty was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Martindale; parents; brother, Terry (Debbie) and Bobby; and sister, Beverly (Delbert).

Marty is survived by his children, Sharon Stahlman, Toni (Wayne Brouse) Martindale, Jim (Sherry) Martindale, Kim (Mark) Bibeau and Steven (Renee); grandchildren, Shane (Jamie) Martindale, Chelsea (Bobby) Martindale, Ann (Rick) Giswold, John Stahlman, Robert Stahlman, Kelsey (Felipe) Martindale, Kevin (Alexa) Martindale, Heather (Jeff) Sharp, Christy (Chris) Olson and Josh Martindale; step-grandchildren, Brittny (Taylor) Baribeau and Brandon (Sara) Baribeau; many great-grandchildren; and siblings-in-law, Debbie and Delbert.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Essentia Hospice and Waterview Shores Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 17th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 PM. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
