Gulbranson
May 16, 1947 – February 21, 2025
Geraldine "Gerry" Ann Gulbranson, 77, of Minneapolis, MN, died February 21, 2025 of natural causes at her home in north Minneapolis.
She was born in Duluth on May 16, 1947 to parents, Elsie G. and Leonard F. Gulbranson and grew up in Proctor, MN. Gerry attended University of MN, Duluth. She worked as a Job Services Counselor at MN Dept of Economic Security retiring in 2005.
An avid patron of the theater, she also loved being on stage and appeared in dozens of local productions, often in the company of the artists of Corcoran Park Players. She starred in at least two significant one woman shows - as Beatrix Potter in a play of the same name, and as Mama Cass (Eliot) in "Pitchin' Pennies at the Moon." Gerry recorded "Dinner Bell" for the Radio Talking Book Network, the State's radio station for the blind; as well as a blues show at KFAI community radio. She also enjoyed playing in a jug band, The Saggy Bottom Girls.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Terry.
Gerry is survived by cousins, Loretta Ferree, Gregory Colberg and Sharon Super and their families; as well as many close friends with whom she shared her wide range of interests.
Visitation and a celebration of life will be May 31st at Lake Nokomis Presbyterian Church, 1620 E. 46th Street in Minneapolis, gathering at 1:30 pm, with sharing of memories at 2 pm.
A second service will be held on Saturday, August 1st at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, at 1:00 PM and graveside and interment at Calvary Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
Memorial gifts in honor of Gerry can be made to KFAI Radio or the American Diabetes Association of Minnesota.
