Gerald "Jerry" Urban Quade, 78, of McGregor, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 7, 2020 in his home.
Jerry was born in Chicago, IL on March 29, 1941 to Edward and Norma Quade. He earned his Eagle Scout in 1957, before graduating from Denfeld High School in 1959. He retired from MnDOT as a Chief Surveyor after 30 years. He continued with the career he loved, as a logger, until the time he became a full-time caregiver to his mother. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and feeding the birds and animals on the farm and at the cabin.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ken and Deb.
Jerry was survived by his children, Joseph (Stacey), and Brenda (Gary) Quade-Mlodozyniec; grandchildren, Allister (Tiffany), Tyrone (Jamie), Victor (Sarah), and Kenneth Quade; great-grandchildren, Aeowyn, Avienda, Ares, Athena, and Mecca; brothers, Jim (Paula) and Don (Pat); niece, Michelle (Fritz); and many loving extended family members and friends.
VISITATION 10 am on Wed. Feb. 26th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. This spring there will be a Celebration of Life at the Rice River Town Hall in McGregor.
