Gerald Arthur
Gagne
September 12, 1922 – January 29, 2021
With a heavy heart the family regrets the passing of Gerald Arthur Gagne on Friday, January 29, 2021. He has gone to be with his loving wife of 49 years, Lucille.
Gerald was born on Sept. 12, 1922 in Duluth, where he lived a long and wonderful life. He served six months with the Civilian Conservation Corp at Allen Junction near Aurora, MN in 1939. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Merchant Marine Corp from 1943 through 1945, where he found himself in Australia at the end of the war. Before joining the war effort, he served two years shipping on the great lakes. He was employed at the Diamond Tool and Horseshoe Company for 39 years.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; parents; and brothers, Leon and Frances.
Gerald is survived by and will be sadly missed by his daughter, Suzanne (Leo) Oliver; son, Daniel (Donna) Gagne; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sisters, Theresa Abrahamson and Judy Cossin.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him; he was as his care givers said, "such a kind gentleman."
