George E. McCall, 93, of Duluth, MN and Lake Vermilion died on December 27, 2015. He was born and raised in Biwabik, MN. He attended Virginia JC, Pratt Institute of Science and Technology (NY), and was a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College. George served in the military during WWII. He saw action in Europe including the Battle of the Bulge. In 1948, he was united in marriage to Marian Dippold. George had a 32 year career working for the D.M. & I.R. Railway in various capacities, retiring as manager of personnel. George was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 293, and the American Legion of Biwabik, MN, Hope United Methodist Church, Eshquaguma Country Club. He was formerly a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, Kiwanis and Boy Scouts. George is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret McCall; brothers, Russell, Francis and Herbert. George is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, Edward and Jason; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
