Gail H. "Bud" Freeman Jr., age 96 of Duluth, passed away on October 14, 2015, while surrounded by family. He was born on August 30, 1919, to Gail and Olga Freeman. Bud grew up in the Duluth area and graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1937. After high school, Bud served in the 125th Field Artillery Battalion and the Red Bulls 34th Infantry Division during WWII from 1941-1945. Bud was a combat wounded veteran. After his time in the service, he married Lornabelle Sprauge. After her death, he married June E. LeMay. Bud enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and traveling. He was very involved with the Veterans Memorial Hall in Duluth and other veteran's causes. Bud is preceded in death by his wives, Lornabelle Freeman and June E. Freeman; sons, Bruce Freeman and Donald LeMay; and brother, Robert Freeman. Bud is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Ken) Nebel; grandchildren, Bobbin (Peter) Mock, Guy (Nancy) Dickenson, Robb LeMay, Scott LeMay, Bryce Freeman, Mike (Jen) Freeman, Jason (Toy) LeMay, and Chris LeMay; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at noon at Sunrise Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow the service with full military honors.
