Frederick "Fred" Leonard Bennett, 85, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on December 22, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Fred was born in Duluth to Harry and Minnie Bennett on October 6, 1936.

He worked as a Carpenter for Carpenter's Union #361. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether with wood or tinkering with small engines, as well as bowling and spending time with family, camping, fishing, hunting, and going to Powwows.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Minnie Bennett; 3 children, Kyle, Kevin and Kathy; 4 sisters, Dorothy, Blanche, Myrna and Ruthann; as well as 2 brothers, Leroy and Harry Jr. "Sonny".

Fred is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sheila; 7 sons, Kenneth, Anthony (Geri), Scott (Carie), Terry (Melissa), Andrew (Casey), Matthew and Jim (Kim); daughter, Kim; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Essentia Health Hospice, especially Bill.

He will be missed but never forgotten.
