Freda Louise Kosch of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the age of 83.

Freda was a loving spouse and mother who doted on her husband and was proud of her three children. She spent her life focused on her family, encouraging them in their pursuits and always had a listening ear and advice. Freda had a zest for life and a passion for many hobbies. She loved spending time in her picturesque gardens and trying out different varieties of flowers. She loved quilting and won ribbons in the county and MN State Fair. She was raised in Champaign, IL and moved to Tri-State IL when she was young. Freda married her life-time love at the age of 16 and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. As a homemaker, she enjoyed trying new recipes and sharing them with family and neighbors. Freda was thoughtful, smart, curious and determined. As a grandmother to five grandchildren, she enjoyed spending time with them, always ready with a smile and a hug. Her favorite times were when her kids and grandkids were together for family gatherings at the summer cabin. In recent years, she was blessed with six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Kathleen (Lee White) and Clifford Reid; sister, Charlotte Anderson; and several family dogs.

She was survived by her husband, Robert Kosch, who passed away shortly after her on August 31, 2022.

She is survived by her children, Tina (Bruce) Welman, Melody (Larry) Bialke and Debra Kosch; grandchildren, Trenton (Taylor) Welman, Brandon Welman, Katherine Welman, Alex (Lacey) Bialke and Severin (Ashley) Bialke; great-grandchildren, Eric Welman, Clayton Welman, Wilder Bialke, Love Bialke, Victor Bialke and Vivian Bialke; sisters, Mary (Don) Kent and Deanna (John) Hill; beloved nieces and nephews; and her dog, Benson. She will be deeply missed.

A private joint ceremony for Freda and Bob Kosch will be held on September 23, 2022, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Duluth.
