Florence Lucille McArthur , 93, of Saginaw, Minnesota passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 at Edgewood Vista, Hermantown, Mn. Florence was born in Culver, Minnesota to Donald and Edith McArthur on July 28, 1925. She graduated from Alborn School. Florence's deep faith in Christ and with encouragement from family and friends she applied and was accepted to the Salvation Army Officers Training Academy. Florence served with the Salvation Army for 45 years until her retirement in 1990. Places of service include Omaha, Chicago, Rockford, Boone, St Paul and Duluth. She cherished her many friends and co-workers and felt it a duty and privilege to lift and encourage those in need. She was a prayer warrior and confidant to many. Florence is survived by her sister Pearl Harmon, niece Darlene (Chuck) Vanderscheuren, nephew Darryl (Carol) Harmon and many grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Salvation Army, 215 S. 27th Ave W., Duluth, Mn on May 4th 2019 at 10:30 with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 and luncheon to follow. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the care teams from Edgewood Vista and Essentia Hospice for their loving care. Florence departed this world into her Saviors arms with these words, "What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see."
