IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Marie
(Dammer) Halverson
August 30, 1944 – October 22, 2025
Evelyn "Eve" Marie (Dammer) Halverson, 81, of Hermantown, huge heart of gold gave out on her on October 22, 2025 in Duluth, MN. Evelyn was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and amazing friend.
Evelyn was born on August 30, 1944, to Melvin and Viola Dammer in Faribault, Minnesota. She spent her childhood in Blackduck and Hermantown. After graduating high school, she attended cosmetology school in Duluth and began her career as a beautician at the Glass Block.
On July 16, 1966, Evelyn married the love of her life and soulmate, David "Dave" Halverson Jr., of Adolph, Minnesota. They first made their home in Munger before settling on the family farm in Hermantown in July 1969. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, hard work, and adventure.
Evelyn and Dave loved to travel - anywhere and everywhere. They proudly visited every state in the union. For ten years, they enjoyed warm winters in their West Palm Beach, Florida condo, where they welcomed family and friends, made wonderful new friendships, and found many favorite restaurants.
Evelyn enjoyed visiting with loved ones and always wanted to hear what everyone was up to. She treasured time spent fishing, gardening, traveling, playing cards (where she was known to cheat just a little), and collecting anything featuring dairy cows. Her passion for animals was evident throughout her life as she worked on and managed the family farm - every animal there had a name and a special place in her heart.
She also worked at the DECC for 13 years, where she made many friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Evelyn would have wanted to say "Thank you for coming together to celebrate my fantastic life." Da, Da, Da.Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Viola Dammer; and infant sister.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David Halverson Jr.; son, Ernest "Ernie" (Hollie) Halverson, St Cloud; daughters, Kimberly (Darcy) Neigum, Bismarck, ND, Brenda (Dan) Gamache, New Richmond, WI, and Bonnie Lou (Z) Goebel, Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Emma Neigum, Bismarck, ND, and Aaron (Myriah) Neigum, Sheridan WY; siblings, Edward (Sandra), Merlyn (Carol), Harvey (Lorene), Charlie (Kerry), Wesley (Cindy), and Susie.
