Ethel Jane "Axel" Nuorala, 98, of Hermantown, went to her eternal home in heaven on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Solvay Hospice House. Ethel was born on August 2, 1918, to Charles and Helen Ross in Superior, WI. She lived in Hermantown but she wintered in Phoenix, AZ, since 1978. She left her family a legacy of love. She had spunk and smiles. She was hard worker all of her life and faced all challenges head on with her practical approach. She touched people's lives in a variety of jobs, ending her working career as manager of the Co-op Restaurant. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; and siblings, Charles Ross, Muriel Santa, and Helen Cooper. Ethel is survived by her children, Bradley (Ann) Nuorala of Oro Valley, AZ, Jean Sedin of Hermantown, Mary Ellen Nuorala of Duluth, Michael (Gina) Nuorala of Ridgefield, WA; grandchildren, Tawn, Keri, Daniel, Aaron, Rachel, Amanda, William "Bill", Brandon, and Brooke; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews that were dearly loved. VISITATION: 12pm on Wednesday, July 12th at Great Lakes Church, 4501 Glenwood St., Duluth, with a memorial service to follow at 1pm.
