Elsie Schweiger, 91, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at Edgewood Vista in Hermantown, Minn. She was born to Karl and Anna Enlund in Alborn, Minn. Elsie was a homemaker and a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening and was a member of the Garden Club and OK Club at St. Lawrence Church. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin and being out on the lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and 8 siblings. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Joe) Ninefeldt, Mary Jo "Josie" (Ron) Anderson, Rick (Chris), Jim (Joni), Annette (Scott) Honer, Michelle (Dave) Libby, and Dave (Kim); 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Edgewood Vista Independent and Assisted Living facilities for the exceptional care given to Elsie over the past 5 years. They would also like to thank the Essentia Health Hospice staff. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30th, at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown.
