Elizabeth "Betty" Jeanne Grote, 85, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Betty was born on May 10, 1934 in Gilbert, MN to Mathew and Jennie Koski. She was an avid fan of Minnesota sports, especially the Twins, Vikings, and the Wild. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Don" Grote. Betty is survived by her sons, Gary (Marianne) Grote and Steve (Jeanne) Grote; daughters, Lynn (Matt Richards) Tarnowski, Lori (Brian) Pilcher, and Leslie (Tom) Nooyen; grandchildren, Tim (Cristelle) Grote, Justin Grote, Andrea Grote (Stacy Ngwesse), Ethan Tarnowski, Sarah (Rory) Donnell, Jenny Pilcher (Casey Quinn), Hanna Nooyen, and Derek Nooyen; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Grote, Arabelle Grote, Ian Grote, Hailee O'Donnell, Timothy O'Donnell, and Baby O'Donnell; and siblings, Melvin Koski, Char Wanvick, Sue (Jim) Watts, Bob Koski, and Mike (Colleen) Koski. Per Betty's request, no funeral services to be held. The family may have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Entombment in Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown.
