Elaine Catherine Alander, 95, passed away Wednesday May 15, 2019 at Golden Oaks Assisted Living in Hermantown, MN. She was born to Andrew and Christine Anderson Oct. 11, 1923. Elaine was a lifelong resident of Rice Lake, MN. She married Voitto "Bernie" Alander on Dec. 7, 1946 and they raised 5 sons together. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Charles, Dale and James, sister Lois Jakubek and brothers Lloyd and Herbert Anderson. She is survived by sons Steven John (Patti) and Jerrold (Maggie) 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, two sisters, Betty (Vi) Olson and Jean Tracy, sister-in-law Miriam Alander and many nieces and nephews. The family gives special thanks to Golden Oaks Staff for their loving care of Elaine. Funeral will be held at Family of God Lutheran Church, 4097 Martin Road on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior to service. Arrangements are handled by Sunrise Funeral and Cemetery.
