Edith Ellen Paaso, 89, passed away peacefully in St. Luke's Hospice after a short illness on April 26, 2013, 13 years and 2 days after her husband Raymond died.  She was born on March 13, 1924 to Hjalmer and Elizabeth (Hyppio) Olsen in New York Mills, MN.  Edith married Raymond Paaso on May 12, 1943.  They were 1 month short of 57 years of marriage when Raymond died April 24, 2000.  She was a homemaker and raised 5 children with him.  Edith was a member of First United Methodist Church, Trinity Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters, VFW auxiliary, Owlettes, and the Eagles. Edith was preceded in death by sons-in-law John Udd and Larry Johnson, 7 sisters, and 4 brothers. She is survived by a son Dennis (Charlotte), daughters Darlene Udd, Debbi Paaso, Dawn Launderville all of Duluth, and Doreen (David) Erickson of Port St. John, FL, grandchildren Michelle (Shawn) Van Guilder, Jade Paaso, Noelle (Tim) Gross, Raymond and Jon Launderville all of Duluth, Lucas and Rachel Erickson of Port St. John, FL, and great-granddaughters Taylor Mae Gross and Emma Van Guilder both of Duluth, and sisters Emily Cross and Esty Brasel of Washington State. Edith is resting peacefully with her beloved Raymond and will be missed by many others.
