Douglas "Doobie" John Smith, 65 of Foxboro, WI passed away Saturday, March 7th, 2026.

Doug was born in Duluth, MN to Margaret and John James Smith on February 17th, 1961. He attended Duluth Cathedral and Duluth Denfeld High School. He worked as a journeyman floor installer in carpenters local 361 until his retirement in 2022 and most recently at Menards.

Doug enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, spoiling his grandkids, going on weekends away with his wife, grilling, spending time at cabins, giving his boys a hard time, telling stories about the good ole days, watching hockey and the Vikings, and having a beer.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Margaret; nephew, Mark Ruthford; and brother-in-law, Mike Ruthford.

Doug is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Anna (Marcos) Colon; sons, Paul (Ashley Dalbec) Hartel, and John (Megan Moore) Smith; grandkids, Sophie, Noelle, and Aurelia Colon, soon to be born Baby Hartel; and his beloved dog, Rocco.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 on Monday, March 16th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral Service to follow at noon.
