Douglas George Nelson, 91 of Duluth, died in Concord, Ca. On January 17,2015 after a brief illness, with his son at hisside. He was born September 12, 1923 in Duluth, Minnesota. He served in the US Navy, on the USS Paducah, from 1940-1945. He married Gertrude (Mattson) Nelson on May 27, 1949. Doug was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years. He is survived by his son, Paul, of Concord, Caa., his niece Diane (Robert) Wiita of Duluth, MN. And a sister Beverly (William) friend of Tacoma, Wa., A memorial service will be held at Sunrise Funeral Home on June 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., visitation: one hour prior to the service.
