Doris "Dorie" Elaine Strom Weiler, 93, of Duluth, passed away on Friday, August 18th at Chris Jensen Nursing Home. Doris was born in Proctor, Minnesota to Carl and Hedvig (Fahrm) Strom on December 17, 1923. She went to high school at Proctor High School and graduated in 1941. Doris was baptized on March 9, 1924, and confirmed on June 19, 1938, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Proctor, Minnesota. She worked at St. Mary's Dietitian Department for many years. She also worked as a clerk at 5 and Dime. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, board games, baking, yard work, gardening, and croquet at family picnics. Doris was a member of Moose and Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Martha's Circle. Doris was a very dependable person. She was very funny and you never knew what she was up to. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, David Weiler; parents; sister, Ethel (Robinson) Kolden; brother, Raymond Strom; and nephew, Curtis Kolden. Doris is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jerry Robinson, Joanne (Tom) Blazejak, James (Loan) Kolden, Dan (Tracy) Kolden, Kathy (Virgil) Fox, Diane (Ron) Kozovich, and Dave (Eileen) Strom; and great nieces and nephews, Laurie Blazejak, Mike Blazejak, Stephanie Kolden, Nikki Kolden, Jason Laakso, Melissa Kolden, Kristen (Andrew) Aune, Kevin (Donna) Kozovich, Lynette (Phil) Maher, and Joanne (Seth) Pfaltzgraff, and Jessica Strom. VISITATION: 1 pm on Friday, August 25th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm.
