Dr. Dorette Larson, 91, of Duluth, passed the evening of Sunday, November 7, 2021 holding her daughters hand.

Dorette Willian Wheat was born in Souix City, IA on July 13, 1930 to Gertrude and Dr. Leonard B. Wheat. Dorette graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1947, and UMD in 1952. She went to the U of M, Minneapolis Medical School where she graduated in 1955. After graduation she married Dr. Arthur Larson. They worked in Private Practice in Madison, MN where they had a daughter, Gwen, in 1957. They then went to work in the Fergus Falls State Hospital. They were divorced in 1960. Dorette continued to work in Minnesota State Hospital system, with a short time in Private Practice, before retiring from the Moose Lake State Hospital. Dorette enjoyed gardening, playing the violin, and jigsaw puzzles.

Dorette is survived by her daughter, Gwen (Arthur) Zehm; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jennifer Zehm; and brother, David Wheat.
