Donna Lee Olson, 92, of Duluth, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Viewcrest Health Center with her family at her side. Donna was born in Duluth on June 29, 1926 to Steve and Mary Mirkovich. Donna was raised in Duluth and married the love of her life, Robert Olson. Together they raised their family and spent many summers at their cabin on Island Lake. There, Donna could be found fishing for hours every evening on the dock. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Aux, D.A.V. Aux. She attended many Marine Corp Unions with her husband. Donna was a kind, warm person to everyone she met. She also enjoyed spending her winters in Sun City West, Arizona. Donna was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Sharon; and daughter-in-law, Randa Olson. Donna was survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert Olson, who passed away on July 15, 2019. Donna is also survived by her sons, Steve (Karen Rinta) of Eagan, MN, and Scott Olson of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Tara, Stacey and Maria all of Maple Grove, MN; great-grandchild, Jax; sisters, Helen Hinks and Bess Morrison both of Duluth, MN; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Keystone Bluffs, Diamond Willow, Viewcrest, and Essentia Hospice Staffs for their care of Donna. Visitation for Donna and Robert will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 27th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with combined memorial service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in MPLS. In lieu of flowers, memorials to D.A.V. preferred.
