Della Jean Paavola, 93, of Hermantown MN, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Edgewood Vista. Della was born in Goodland, MN to Ernest Peters & Helen Wall on May 25, 1924. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, and being part of the Red Hat Society. Della was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Paavola; son, Lance G. Paavola; and daughter LaVonne J. Buchan. Della is remembered lovingly by her son-in-law, David B. Buchan; grandsons, Robert B. (Teri Rosko) Buchan and James D. (Noemy) Buchan; and great-grandchildren, Carley M. Anthony, Nickolas J. Buchan, Gabriella R. Buchan, and Julian J. Buchan. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, May 18th at First Covenant Church, 2101 W 2nd St, Duluth, with a reception to follow.
