Deborah "Debbie" Jo DeBolt, 45, of Rice Lake, MN, passed away on May 20, 2020 at her home. Debbie was born in Robbinsdale, MN to Gary and Vicki Skajewski on September 04, 1974. She attended high school at Cooper High and graduated in 1993, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from The College of St. Scholastica and her Masters of Education from St. Mary's University. Debbie was a beloved school teacher for Duluth Public Schools ISD 709 for 20 years. She was an active member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Duluth, MN. Debbie enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Bear Island Lake, fishing (her favorite color bait was pink), berry picking, swimming, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling. She will be remembered as an amazing teacher and the one who brought the fun to family gatherings and the annual "Cabin Girls" weekend retreat. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Al and Annette Skajewski, and Donald and Helen Weiss; and brother-in-law, Richard "Ricky" DeBolt. Debbie is survived by her husband of nearly 22 years, Gary; sons, Andrew and Jacob of Rice Lake, MN; parents, Gary & Vicki Skajewski of Babbitt, MN; brother, Tony (Trisha) of Golden Valley, MN; mother & father-in-law, Dick & Millie DeBolt of Gnesen Township, MN; sister-in-law, Tiz (Steve) Becker of Foxboro, WI; niece, Allison; nephew, Jack; and special great-aunt, Josephine "JoJo" Walaszek. A private service will be live streamed at stbensduluth.org on Friday, May 29 at 11:00 am with a memorial service to follow at a later time and date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The ALS Association MN, ND, SD Chapter at 1919 University Ave W, Suite 175, St Paul, MN 55104 or a charity of their choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the supporters of Team Deb along with Jalicia, Julie, Pat, Sam, and Sarah with Interim HealthCare for their compassion while working with Debbie.
