Deane Hood, 89, of Cloquet, formerly of Duluth, died Wednesday December 19, 2012 in Community Memorial Hospital, Sunnyside Health Care Center.  He was born in Chisholm, MN on December 21, 1922.  Deane was a WWII Army Veteran serving with the 125th Field Artillery.  He was a member of the David Wisted VFW Post.  He had married Esther Saelens on October 30, 1941 in Duluth. He was preceded in death by his wife Esther, sons John and James, and his dog Norman. He is survived by a son Deane "Chuck" (Saki) Hood of Portland, OR, daughter Deb (Ervin) St. Germaine of Cloquet, MN, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 26, 2012 from Noon until the 1:00PM Funeral Service in Sunrise Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.  Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.
