David Russell "Jake" Jacobson, 76 of Saginaw, passed away in Duluth on Friday, April 5, 2019. He was born in Duluth, MN on March 14, 1943 to Alice and Russell Jacobson. David graduated from Denfeld High School in 1961 where he competed on the swim team. He then joined the U.S. Air Force for 4 years where he was stationed in Texas and Alaska. He worked at Lakehead Water Testing, the Post Office for 37 years, and delivered flowers at Peterson Anderson for 13 years as his retirement job. David loved his family, talking to everyone anywhere he went, playing cards with his poker buddies, and playing fantasy sports. He always had an entertaining story to share and was a wealth of knowledge. David is beloved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Jacobson; his father, Russell Jacobson; and his brother Richard Jacobson.
David is survived by his wife, Genie Jacobson; his daughter, Joey Jacobson (Matt Haney); his sons, Damien (Jodi) Paulson, Travis (Bridget) Paulson and Paul Schrader; his step-daughter, Diana (Frank) Simmons; his grandchildren Jalen Paulson, Noah Paulson, Rocco Paulson, Cordell Paulson, and Tai Haney; his great-grandson, Elijah Paulson; and his brothers Larry Jacobson and Alan Jacobson .
Gathering of friends and family will be at 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, April 13th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy.
