Darrel L. Lorenz, 78, of Duluth, MN died Saturday May 11, 2013 in his residence.  He was born in Bertha, MN on July 26, 1934 to John and Amanda Lorenz.  Darrel married Leilo Hammond on May 16, 1953 in the Methodist Church in Eagle Bend, MN.  He worked at Gershgols, National Food, and IGA grocery stores in Duluth.  After retiring from the grocery business, Darrel and Leilo owned and operated Harbour Bridal Shop in West Duluth. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Evelyn Nielsen, Lorraine LaPadula, Deloris Schaefer, Elvera Peterson, and Loretta Nelson, and a brother Veral Lorenz. Darrel is survived by his wife Leilo, children Dan (Shawn) Lorenz of Eden Prairie, MN, Marilyn Nolin of Las Vegas, NV, and Steven (Nordie) Lorenz of Spring Valley, CA, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and brothers Melvin (Florence) of Bertha, MN, Junior Lorenz of Apache Jct., AZ, Gary (JoAnn) of Proctor,MN, and Ralph (Maxine) of Grand Rapids, MN. The family wishes to give a special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice for their thorough and respectful care of Darrel in his final days.
