Cory lived his life as a selfless, sweet, caring, kind, and loving soul. Cory "Stubby" Emmanuel Carlson, 35, of Duluth, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 in his sleep at home. Cory was born in Duluth to Ron and Linda Carlson on Feb. 2, 1985 and graduated from Central High School. He worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts Store and liked tinkering with cars. He was an active participant in the Cruise for Cancer. He stayed busy remodeling his house, but was always there to lend a hand to anyone who asked. In the spare time he did find, he enjoyed going hunting at the shack, fishing, and hanging out with his buddies. It was easy to get lost in conversation with Cory, as he was just so easy to talk to. Cory is survived by his parents, Ron and Linda; sister, Courtney (Ethan) Dearborn; nephew, Weston; and extended family members and friends. Visitation to be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 3rd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 11am. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. Celebrate Cory's life as he would; feel free to wear your jeans and flannel shirts to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to be applied towards a marker to commemorate Cory.
