Constance "Connie" Weast, 85, of Maple Grove, Minnesota. Heaven welcomed a feisty and independent angel on January 1, 2020 at The Wellstead Memory Care facility in Rogers. Connie was born at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth to Emil and Lempi Metso in 1934. Connie survived childhood polio and went on to graduate from Floodwood High School in 1952.
Connie lived in the Fort Worth area early in her work career before moving back to Duluth to raise her two boys, and to be closer to family and friends. She experienced post-polio syndrome later in life and retired from Northern Drug Company. Connie was a member of the United Protestant Church in Morgan Park. She loved her family, traveling, reading, and talking.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard "Rick"; brother, Gene; and sisters, Emily and Maxine.
Connie is survived by her son, Jeff (Linda) Weast of Maple Grove; daughter-in-law, Kim Clark of Virginia; and grandchildren, Dana (Sean) Clark-Scott of Portland, Becky Clark of Portland, Nick Weast of Grand Forks, and Ally Weast of Maple Grove.
The family wishes to thank the kind and caring staff at The Wellstead of Rogers and Brookdale Hospice. Healthcare providers are truly saints and their services are appreciated. Connie's family is planning a private burial and she will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Park in Duluth.
