CLEOPHA (Kleo) MARIE (LAFOUNTAIN) SCOTT, 91, of Duluth, died in her home on May 6, 2013. She was born June 17, 1921, in Chateaugay, New York, to Frank and Georgiana LaFountain and she graduated from Chateaugay High School in 1938. She married Jack R. Scott on July 19, 1943 in Lyon Mountain, New York. They lived in Lyon Mountain, Moriah, and Port Henry, New York; Liberia, West Africa; Silver Bay, MN; and on Pequaywan Lake until moving to Duluth in 2005. They enjoyed cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and traveling in their motor home until moving to Matterhorn Manner. Kleo was always busy with her many interests that included working with stained glass, crocheting, playing cards, reading and working crossword puzzles. She helped to set up the library and was "librarian" at Matterhorn Manner. Most important to her however was her family. She loved having the whole family together whenever it could be arranged. Kleo was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; a sister, Rita Linney-Hart; and her brother, Arnold LaFountain. Kleo is survived by her sister, Janet (William) Carey; son, James (Linda) of Aurora; daughter Mary of Duluth; son Robert (Kay) of Cape Vincent, New York; 10 grandchildren: Jim (Laurie) Scott, Jill (Mark) Klaras, Cory (Becky) Stanhope, Michelle (Kevin) Oman, Ashley (Bob) Maloney, Skylar Scott-Finn, Sarah Scott, Ruth Scott, Neil (Kelly) Scott and Emily (Timothy) Scott and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate her life. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown. Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.
