Clarice J. Veech, age 83, formally of Hermantown, passed away on December 4, 2015, in the presence by familyand friend at St. Mary's Hospital. Clarice was born on July 11, 1932 in Duluth to Arthur and Rose Smith. She grew up in Duluth where she met and married Thomas Veech. They moved to Hermantown where they built their home and raised their five children. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother, adventure, traveling, and most of all fishing in Alaska and spending time at her son's lake home.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; infant daughter, Catherine; sons, Terry Veech and Randy Veech; brothers, Arthur Smith and John (Jay) Smith; nephew, Cory Veech. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Olson, Dale (Cindy) Veech, Shawn (Kelli) Veech and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Veech; brother, Richard (Joan) Smith; sister-in-law, Margaret Smith; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her partner and caregiver of 23 years, Carl R. Schenk. Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sunrise Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
