Carol Molly Johnson, 86, of Hermantown, MN passed away on September 10, 2024 at New Perspective Senior Living in Cloquet, with her kids by her side.

She was born on December 24, 1937, in Hannibal, WI to Henry and Violet (Wagner) Lohnis. When she was 7 years old, she and her parents moved to Duluth, where she graduated from Denfeld in 1955. She worked at Glass Block for 24 years, retiring in 1998.

Carol married Edward Johnson on May 16, 1959, and they raised 3 children. Edward preceded her in death on May 15, 2014.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of Dorcus Circle All American Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and going to craft sales with her girls, and attending plays and musicals.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 55 years, Edward; and sisters, Jeanette Hooverson in 1986, and Vivian Patterson in 2013.

Carol is survived by her children, Deborah (Randy) Stanius, Bruce (Kim) Johnson, and Kimberly (Doug) LaFontaine; grandchildren, Mandy Stanius, Lacey Stanius, Chris (Jenny) Johnson, Brandi (Brooks Smith) Pauly, Nicole (Dillon) Thein, and Tiffany LaFontaine; and great-grandchildren, Adelei, Holden, Abbi, Gracie, Blake, Grant, and Garrett.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at New Perspective and Essentia Hospice for their care of Carol.

Visitation to be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 20th at Christ Lutheran Church, 2415 Ensign St, with Memorial Service at 12:00 PM and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery with her dear husband.
