Carol Jean LaTour, 69, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on April 18, 2018 at Essentia Health - St Mary's Medical Center. Carol was born in Soudan, Minnesota to Irene (Helen) and Albert J. Anderson on August 28, 1948. She went to high school at Tower-Soudan and graduated as an honor student in 1966. She went on to earn a degree in License Practical Nursing from the Virginia Hospital Nursing Program. She worked as a nurse for St. Luke's in Duluth for many years. She enjoyed collecting cookie jars and dolls, and really loved her dogs. She was well-known for not being afraid to speak her mind. Carol was preceded in death by her husband and lifelong companion, Dean LaTour in 2002; her father in 1974, and her mother in 2007. Carol is survived by her sons, Bradley LaTour (Angie Shambour) of Hermantown and Craig LaTour (Diane) of Cloquet; her grandchildren, Gabriel, Alicia, Preston, Carolena, and Jack; her siblings, Susan (Keith) Kotzian, Robert (Shirley) Anderson, Dawn (Fred) Nilsen, Janis (Doug) Swanson, Jack Anderson, Peter Anderson, Alan (Stacie) Anderson, Dana (Michelle) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, MN.
