Obituary

Carol Ann Gellerstedt, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Carol’s kindness and positive outlook on life were shaped by her grandmother, Katarina, who raised her alongside her father. In 1956, she met and married the love of her life, David.

Carol spent her years raising three children, painting houses, hauling wood, gardening. She was also an avid pinecone collector. She was a daily gift to those around her. For fourteen years, Carol and David were an important part of the Duluth Curling Club, working the roller skating at the rink in the summer and hockey in the winter. During that time, Carol became a mother to so many.

Above all, Carol cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always had a sunny disposition and a smile for everyone she met. When asked how she was the answer was always “perfect”.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David.

She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Steven C.) Eberhart; son, Paul (Mary); daughter, Gail (Len); and foster daughter, Melanie (Steve) Perry, and her children, Anna and Joey. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Hattie (Toulee) Vang and Kelly (Andrew) Gibson; and four great-grandchildren, Nora, Cora, Emmalinn, and Steven.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Edgewood Vista-independent living, assisted living, and memory care, as well as the Caring Edge Hospice staff, for the kindness and compassion they showed Carol.
