Carl E. Hammerberg Jr., 58 of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 25, 2016.  Carl was born in Duluth, MN to Carl and Darlene Hammerberg on August 18, 1957.  Carl attended Duluth East High School and graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art.  He worked as a graphic designer for his own company Hammerberg Productions.  Carl will be remembered for being an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, for his hard work and precision to detail and for his love of the outdoors.  Carl's greatest love on this earth were his two children.  Carl is preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Hammerberg Sr. Carl is survived by his children, Ellora (Marcus Martin) and Carl Hammerberg III; his siblings, Jeff (Merlin) Hammerberg, Chris Hammerberg, Mark Hammerberg, Julee (Troy) Paulseth and Jason (Ingrid) Hammerberg; mother, Darlene "Dolly" Hammerberg; the mother of his two children, Spring Phillipson; Laurie Oppel; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held at Sunrise Funeral Home on July 1st, 2016, at 11:00 AM with Dennis Rokser officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
