Bruce "Red" Edward
Beron
May 24, 1948 – May 18, 2026
Sunrise Funeral Home
1:00 - 3:00 pm (Central time)
Bruce "Red" Edward Beron, 77, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Bruce was born on May 24, 1948, to Raymond and Lois Beron. He graduated from Proctor High School in 1966, marking the beginning of his lifelong career as a self-employed flooring installer. In 1969, Bruce married Linda, and together they were blessed with three children. After parting ways, Bruce married Jeannie in 2003, and together they have shared many memories.
A true, lifelong outdoorsman, Bruce’s earlier years were defined by his passion for nature. He went on countless hunting trips, pursuing whatever game he could find. With so many adventures, his children fondly remember never quite knowing what kind of wild game meat they would be eating for dinner. Bruce was happiest while he was camping, four-wheeling, or spending time at the deer shack. As time went on, one of his favorite hobbies led him to become a certified gunsmith. If it involved a gun, Bruce was doing it. He was also a major part of the local archery and gun clubs, and his buddies frequently sought out his expertise to work on their own guns. Bruce didn’t just work on guns; he was a phenomenal marksman. He thrived in clay pigeon shooting competitions and also excelled in the extreme discipline of long-range shooting. When he wasn't out on the range or in the woods, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and proudly bragging to anyone who would listen about his grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Pamela Wedum.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Jeannie; daughters, Michele (Matt) Liikala and Nichole (Shane) Jopke; son, Adam Beron; stepsons, Joshua (Kim) Miens, Travis (Bobbie Jo) Miens; 11 grandchildren, Isabel (Zach) Soelter, Audrey, Chloe, Maiya, Elsie Liikala, Brooks and Brynlee Jopke, Kallen, Reina and Kasha Miens, Rase Miens; brother, Kim Beron; sisters, Deborah (Galen) Atwood and Kathy (Mark) Horngren; brothers-in-law, Neal Wedum, Bobby, Tommy, Bill, Mike (Denise), John (Amy) Archer; sister-in-law, Debbie (Mike) Ecklund; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Essentia Hospice Team.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, Friday, May 29th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, with a Time of Sharing at 2:00 PM
Bruce faced life’s ups and downs with his trademark easygoing attitude and his favorite reminder: "It is what it is." Though we will miss him dearly, we know he’d want us to keep moving forward, sharing stories, and remembering the good times.
