Bruce Cornelius Barker, 77, of Duluth, died on June 24, 2026 at the Solvay Hospice facility of Duluth.

Bruce was born on September 9th, 1949 to Hulid “Happy” Barker and Agnes Mortensen Barker.

Bruce grew up in the Pike Lake neighborhood and attended Pike Lake Elementary. Following Graduation, in 1968, he was hired as a Janitor/Engineer at Pike Lake. Later a position at Proctor's old High School opened up for him. Caribou Lake school was next. Following retirement, he took up the hobby of working with diamond willow making and carving out walking sticks.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter in 2022, Amanda Barker-Mead.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Iverson Barker; and three grandchildren, Miss Serena Barker, Victor Mead and Miles Mead, all residents of Duluth. Not to be forgotten are dozens of cousins.

Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9th at Grace Lutheran Church, 5454 Miller Trunk Highway, with Memorial Service at 11:00 AM and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
