Obituary

Bernard "Skip" Nelson, 75, of Sturgeon Lake, died Saturday June 15, 2013 in St. Luke's Hospital.  He was born in Duluth on April 10, 1938 to Oscar and Helen (Larrivy) Nelson.   Skip was an Air Force Korean War Veteran.  He had driven truck for Mayflower and Indianhead Transport.  Skip was a lifetime member of the D.A.V., and the VFW.  He was also a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Bernadette, sister Barb Brisk, and brothers Joe and Larry Larrivy. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Myra, children Cynthia (Charles) Nelson of Rossville, GA, Deborah Nelson of Duluth, Roberta (Kent) Roman of Albuquerque, NM, Pamela (Arnold) Marten of Sturgeon Lake, MN, and Victoria (Al) Carlson of Duluth, grandchildren Patricia, Tara, Justin, Jeremi, Brandon, Zach, Nicholas, Devin, Christopher, Nathan, and Vanessa, great-grandchildren Austin, Owen, Lylah, and Mason, a sister Dolores Riddle, and brothers, Terry (Nancy), Edward (Jean) and Dale Larrivy. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 20, 2013 from Noon until the 1PM Memorial Service in Sunrise Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.  Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.  Military Honors will be Accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.  To leave an online condolence see www.sunrisefuneralhomeandcemetery.com.
